What we do
The Library Project Kosova (TLP-K), established in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2017, is a non-profit, volunteerbased organization with the mission to ‘Develop reading comprehension in children and young adults in Kosovo, and motivate them to become lifelong readers’.
To achieve our mission, we will take three approaches:
(1) Work with the children and teachers to increase reading comprehension;
(2) Increase the availability of books and spaces where children are able to read freely and obtain the best support; and;
(3) Advocate for reading comprehension to become an essential component in the curriculum.
How it started
It all started in a small café, on rainy autumn day in Stockholm. A few friends were having coffee and discussing reading and how it had influenced their paths in life. This quickly led to a desire to provide children in Kosovo with the same access to books as they had. This passion for reading has united over 20 volunteers from various fields of work and has created a dynamic and exciting environment where everyone is free to contribute with ideas.
Our vision
To provide every child with access to books by extending reading hours and implementing reading comprehension strategies in all schools across Kosovo.
Comprehension is the key
to mastering the
art of reading!
